The client was involved in a glassing at the MCG, where he hit a security guard with a beer glass. This resulted in a laceration and bruising to the security guard's face. The client was charged with Intentionally causing injury, Recklessly cause injury, Unlawful assault. The client ultimately pleaded guilty to cause injury intentionally, and all other charges were withdrawn.
Verdict: Convicted and sentenced to 5 months, suspended for a period of 12 months.

Case Study: Theft, Aggravated Cruelty to an Animal
Charges: Theft, aggravated cruelty to an animal.
The accused, in company with three other teenagers, had stolen a cat and then strung it up on a bridge until it died. In the Children’s Court, the accused was sentenced to 4 months of detention in a Youth Training Centre. He was bailed pending his appeal.
Verdict: Re-sentenced, without conviction, to a probation order for six months.
